    78044C is the correct Hex Code - 78064C as you suggest is allocated to B-6671 A320-232 C/N 4186 China Eastern.
    78044C used to be allocated to B-5366 B737-8GQ C/N 35793 Okay Airways but this was sold to Malaysian as 9M-MLD in May 2010 so the Hex Code has been reallocated to a new aircraft which is now B-5539 B737-84P L/N 3378 C/N 35763 Hainan.
    As there appears to be not enough Hex Codes in China they have to keep reallocating previous Hex Codes to new aircraft on the Chinese register as the old aircraft get sold or scrapped.
