In memory of the late Jim Rustik This new blog sets out to continue his great work in providing information on Boeing Test Flights in the Puget Sound area of Seattle WA. Reports will cover first flights & deliveries where possible from Renton, Boeing Field & Paine Field. Any updated contributions most welcome.
John,
ReplyDeleteMSN41191? , that number looks way to low for an order placed in September 2012 - and is only in a block of maximum four 41191-41194, because 41190 and 41195 are already known. (CA ordered five, as you know).
Can you double check again? Or could it be 42191? This number would have been allotted in late 2012.
Thanks in advance, regards,
Peter.
Thanks Peter for your comment
ReplyDeleteI've re-checked the Air China MSN & 41191 is correct.
As you pointed out they have a block of 4 MSN's 41191 - 41194
but also have a block of 2 MSN's 44932 & 44933
At the moment they have at least 6 on order !
Regards
John
John,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your quick answer.
It puzzles me, an unusual series of allocations!
I'm fairly sure that CA have seven 747-8 on order - 5 ordered on 06-Sep-12 and 2 more on 21-Dec-13, although these latter two are still held by Boeing as Unidentified Customer orders.
On 01-Mar-13 CA announced to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that it had agreed to purchase from Boeing 2 747-8, 1 777-300ER and 20 737-800.
The solo 777-300ER ordered on 21-Dec-13 is 44931 B-2006 for Air China, which is adjacent to the second block of two MSNs you have just told me.
So we are missing one MSN - the last one from CA's first order of five.
Any info about the MSN of the fifth 747-89L of the first order ?
Keep up the excellent work, regards
Peter.
Peter
